The national electricity utility company of Afghanistan Usluel Enerji Tesisleri Taahhut VE TIC. A.S., a joint venture with  Omran Holding Group, signed a contract, valued at approx. $20 million with Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat (DABS). This contract includes construction and installation of a 220 KV Substation and a 20 KV Distribution Network in Salang’s tunnel.

The Substation will constitute of two transformers, each with 2MWA capacity, in order to provide electricity to the nearby homes.
